Can airport security stop me for metal in my leg?
I had surgery on my ankle 3 years ago. I broke it pretty badly and now I have screws and plates in my leg. I’m traveling for the first time on a plane this summer to Montreal from Illinois. Can the airport metal detectors that you walk through detect the metal in my leg and make me stop? Ever since 9/11 things have been super tight in airports and its really worrying. Am I being silly?
Yes the detector will pick up the screws and plates its not a big deal. If you have a medical card that states you have the reconstruction of your ankle it makes it a bit smoother and they just use the wand,
