Metal detecting in NJ?


I Live in Nj and i really dont know and good old schools, dumps, abandoned places or even farms … i go to beaches alot but i wanna do metal detecting on actual dirt. If someone could give me some examples of places that would be great thanks.

  1. Your county library or city hall is a great place to start. Go look at old maps, showing where farms, stores, parks were, in the early 1900s or before. Then, cross-reference those maps with what you see today. There might be a vacant lot where once stood a farmhouse or an old barn. Advance planning/research is the tedious part, but, it will prove the most successful. Dont forget to ALWAYS get permission ……..dont ruin the sport for others.
